IT'S A MEGA-BLOCKBUSTER SUMMER
AT BAKERSOUND
Summer slowdown? Not around here!
Production at Baker Sound hit a feverish pace this spring and that momentum has continued into the summer months. Verizon turned up the heat, with Plymouth Meeting-based Vault Communications putting together FIOS radio spots featuring Phillies slugger Ryan Howard. In a separate session it was rocker, spoken-word artist, and actor Henry Rollins bringing his edgy attitude to new national TV spots for Verizon. Rollins is best known as the front man for Black Flag and the Rollins Band, as well as his numerous appearances in TV and film.
Meanwhile, local ad producers have been busy building brands throughout the region and across the country. Agency 51 Creative Director David Witz crafted new spots for Cox Cable and the Alabama Credit Union. Masterminds produced new radio for Boomtown Casinos in Reno and Bossier City, Louisiana and TV and radio for FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Michigan, as well as TV spots for several Pocono Mountain attractions including Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. Our upstairs neighbors at Visual Innovations came down to mix new national TV spots for Conagra, while our friends at Caspari McCormick created new ads for Primo Hoagies, Longwood Gardens, and CarSense.
And there's more! Mama Dietz was back to record new Dietz & Watson spots for Neiman Group. Price Communications brightened our day with new spots for Sun National Bank, while Backe Communications enlightened us with a radio campaign for Pierce College. Signature Communications completed work for Benari Jewelers and Crozer Keystone Sleep Centers. Just hearing the Marathon Group’s new spots for Community Medical Center and Kimball Medical Center made us feel great. And of course, it wouldn't be summer without new ads for the Phillies, and a new round of sweeps for WPVI!
Baker’s MONSTER TRACKS music division has also turned up the volume in recent weeks. A contemporary alternative rock track energized Red Tettemer’s new Philly tourism TV spot for the GPTMC, while a retro R&B vibe set the tone for Thomas J. Paul’s new radio campaign for Delaware Valley audio and home theater retailer Hifi House. Coming off a recent Gold ADDY Award for their work on The Art of the American Soldier exhibition, composer Chuck Butler again partnered with Holton Sentivan + Gury to create new advertising for the National Constitution Center’s Discover the Real George Washington exhibit. MONSTER TRACKS also worked with ShootersINC and Jennings Advertising of Chapel Hill, North Carolina to provide music for separate TV spots promoting Cooper Hospital and the new Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. MONSTER TRACKS has also recently completed work for Lady Luck Casinos, Jefferson University Hospitals, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and West Chester University.
Turning to the world of audiobooks, Baker engineer Jeff King recorded several new titles including The Pledge, the second book in The American Quilt Series by author Jane Peart. King also recorded Northwest Angle, the latest in the “Cork O’Connor” series written by William Kent Krueger. And critically acclaimed author Catherine Gilbert Murdock stopped by to record commentary for her upcoming novel, Wisdom’s Kiss.
Finally, Baker Sound was honored to record “first responder” Steve Heicklen for director Stephen Low’s new 3D IMAX film Rescue. Heicklen has been on the scene for many of the world’s worst natural disasters, including Hurricane Katrina. We certainly appreciate the dedication of those professionals who put themselves in harm’s way when disaster strikes.
Baker Sound wishes everyone a safe and fun-filled summer!
