NEW LOOK, SAME GREAT BAKER SOUND
Baker Sound has had a busy fall after completing a comprehensive makeover including new flooring and paint throughout the facility, new furniture in the lobby, and remodeled restrooms. Updated photos have been posted to our website and social media, but visitors are always welcome!
Speaking of visitors, actor Austin Peck (Days of Our Lives) was in to work on two recent episodes of NBC’s Chicago Fire, while Jann Ellis (12 Monkeys) stopped by to record for Law & Order: SVU and Brian Anthony Wilson (Limitless) was behind the mic for an episode of Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga. We were also delighted to welcome back Kim Delaney (NYPD Blue, Army Wives) as she recorded dialog for her hit Amazon series The Oath.
In advertising news, American Idol runner-up Justin Guarini was back in character as Lil’ Sweet to voice upcoming spots for Dr. Pepper, the tireless creatives at Oink Ink crafted new radio campaigns for Staples and K12 while continuing their promo work for Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, the gang at Pep Boys kicked the tires on new spots in English and Spanish, and Allebach whet our appetites with new national radio for Steak-umm, John Soules Chicken Products, and Mrs. T’s Pierogies. Meanwhile on the local front, Aloysius Butler & Clark was hard at work creating new spots for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, the Museum of the American Revolution, and AtlantiCare. Levlane was in to produce a TV and radio campaign for Capital Health as well as several radio spots for Rothman Orthopaedics, while Karma delivered new spots for Main Line Health and Longwood Gardens. We were pleased to learn that spots from two campaigns promoting The Philadelphia Inquirer were cited for advertising excellence by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association, and Baker has survived yet another political season, handling campaigns for candidates and PACs in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, South Carolina, New York, Iowa, Michigan, and Virginia.
Baker’s MONSTER TRACKS music division continues to crank out hits, including a cheerful score for a colorful spot by Think Traffic promoting the new Grain Bowls at Saladworks. Composer Chuck Butler was tapped by Allebach to create a new national jingle for Mrs. T’s Pierogies, and worked with producer Glenn Gury to score a series of spots for Florida appliance retailer Good Deals. A TV campaign by M Partners for Tulalip Casinos in Washington inspired scores in diverse styles including surf rock, '80s R&B, and '60s kitsch, and then it was head-banging metal and sound design on a new spot for Albuquerque’s Route 66 Casino by Magnum Marketing. A spot for Cargomatic by producer Mark Lipsky at The Radio Agency called for a hipster jazz score, and Chuck then completed a “style cycle” by providing orchestral scores for campaigns on both sides of the political divide, including ads promoting presidential candidate Joe Biden and a number of spots for businessman Eddie Rispone’s Louisiana gubernatorial bid. We are also are proud to announce that MONSTER TRACKS music has now been featured in more than twenty episodes of Nickelodeon’s top-rated animated series The Loud House.
Baker has also recorded a number of notable new audiobook titles, including FBI Myths and Misconceptions by former Special Agent Jerri Williams, and Over the Top by Jonathan Van Ness of the Netflix reboot Queer Eye. Prolific voice artist Laural Merlington has also recorded a number of new titles, none more challenging than philosopher Hannah Arendt’s classic The Life of the Mind, which includes passages in multiple modern and ancient languages.
Finally, Baker was excited to record two recent episodes of Jonathan Van Ness’ popular Getting Curious podcast featuring Temple Unversity history professor Jessica Roney and Smithsonian Programs Director Ranald Woodaman, as well as the debut episodes of Jefferson Health’s new The Health Nexus podcast, which offers an inside look at everything happening at the provider.
Baker wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
